With all the comments about how wet the summer has been, I thought that I would look into the actual figures at work.
At Far Gearstones (near Ribblehead), which is one of our main raingauge sites. The figures for May to July this year are:

July | 135% |
The graph [not yet on the website owing to technological difficulties, ie. it's not platform portable :-(] showing daily rainfall totals at Far Gearstones paints a damp picture with June having rain on most days and July little better.
